FASHION FRIDAY: “I’m On A Boat”
Winter was yesterday, Spring is today, and Summer comes afterwards. Yes, we know that the first line sounded strangely fitting in a Rebecca Black song. But we wanted to remind you that Spring is all about FUN, FUN, FUN.
Fun is keeping it simple and laid-back. The navy blue and white stripes of the Nautical look keeps it simple as a reminder than summer and heading to the ocean go hand-in-hand. Utilize boat shoes and wear it without socks to keep to the laid-back style of Spring-Summer.
For those windier and colder summer nights, you can pair your look with a double-breasted navy blazer. This keeps you looking posh and preppy. If you want a thinner material, wear a striped cardigan. Remember that wider stripes work well with other patterns, so you don’t necessarily have to commit to wearing a striped shirt underneath.
Complete the Nautical look with a cord belt. And if you’re feeling daring and want to add to the preppy feel of the look, put on a bowtie and/or black rimmed glasses. And of course, with the days getting warmer and warmer, you can’t go wrong with shorts. Seersucker shorts look fun and sophisticated.
